Flying F0x really looks like a fun coaster and we were all ready to take it for a flight up into the wild blue yonder...
...but with the ride being only a couple of weeks old and needing some additional work it was down for the day so we never got to see it run or take it for a ride. Oh well, another excuse to revisit Kentucky Kingdom.
Taking a view of Flying Fox from the Giant Wheel you can get a great view of Flying Fox's layout. This is the third coaster in the history of Kentucky Kingdom on this plot of land and the second Vekoma. First there was a Vekoma Boomerang called Vampire that ran here from 1990 to 1999 before getting moved to Six Flags New England. Then during Kentucky Kingdom's Six Flags years the Road Runner Express mouse coaster ran here from 2000 to 2009 before also being moved to Six Flags New England. Flying Fox looks like a much more fun coaster than its predecessors. Hopefully it doesn't end up getting sent to Six Flags New England like the others.
As the flying fox has a barnstorming theme it is only appropriate that the rides station is in fact a barn.
This ride looks really fun and with missing getting to experience it this year I'll just have to make sure to come back again.
Speaking of coming back to Kentucky Kingdom I do have a request for Herschend Family Entertainment who now owns Kentucky Kingdom, Silver Dollar City, Dollywood, Adventureland, Kennywood, Lake Compounce, Idlewild Park, Wild Adventures, and a few other parks please offer a season pass that gets us admission into ALL of your parks. Having Kentucky Kingdom, Adventureland, and Silver Dollar City within a 6 hour drive from home I'd gladly pay for a all park season pass.
All of Herschend parks are really into festivals and it was nice seeing Kentucky Kingdom all dressed out for the Floral Frenzy festival. Festivals throughout a year are a great way to dress up the park, have a little fun, and to really create wonderful memories for guests. They are not that expensive to put on but to me at least festivals add a little more sparkle to another wonderful day at a park
