Bond really enjoys Silver Dollar City's original attraction so we headed down into the deep and dark recesses of Marvel Cave.

The area around Silver Dollar City was once known as the town of Notch.  It got that name because at some point way in the past one the local Native Americans put notches in the trees around the sinkhole at the top of Marvel Cave warning all who went through the area of danger.

Maybe at some point a Native American fell into the cave resulting in all of the notched warnings that can still be seen in the trees around the sinkhole.

I have been through a few dozen caves and the massive entrance room of Marvel Cave always blows my mind with the sheer size of it.  Also the entrance kicks in my fear of heights as it really is a long way down when you are standing up there looking over the edge of the railing.

It is always fascinating going through caves and seeing the wonderful things that a little water, limestone and a few million years can create.
