Back in the day for new employee orientation before the park
opened for each season Mrs. Koch used to get up on the stage before each
employee and tell them to treat the park as their house and each and
every person coming through the gates was their personal guest, and that
they needed to go all out to give their guests the best time ever.
That attitude is what made a middle of nowhere small town theme park
with a handful of rides famous world wide where people will trek across
the globe for a visit. The rides were a big part of Holiday
World's world wide appeal but what truly set Holiday World apart from
the Six Flags, the Cedar Point's, and even the Disney's of the world was
that amazing customer service and devotion to giving everyone who visits
Santa Claus, Indiana the best day ever.

While during our visit it seems that the attitude that got Holiday World
to the dance is for the most part gone at least it still lives on in The
Legend crew.
With the Legend's crew so good I had to lap it until Bond and Travis got
back from Splashin' Safari. One person that deserves a call out
for The Legend's crew being so good was a ride operator named Roxanne.
Watching her you could see how much she absolutely loved her job, and
how much she loved giving everyone she interacted with the best time
ever. Her enthusiasm was infectious and it was absolutely the
source of what made The Legend by far the best experience of the day.
If it were up to me I'd have her promoted and put in charge of training
all employees because what she has needs to spread.
Chatting with Roxanne as she checked my lap bar over and over she is a
big fan of this site and I wanted to thank her for being the one bright
spot in a day that shockingly turned out pretty dreary.

Man, I know times change but $18 for a burger at Holiday World...ouch.
Yes, things get more expensive over time, but I remember when Carrie,
Bond and myself could have a nice meal for about $12 here.

Mid-day while everyone is down in Splashin' Safari is always a wonderful
time to go and take The Raven for a ride.

While the Raven with a tiny eighty foot lift, and an eighty-five foot
drop doesn't look that impressive this ride really changed the world for
wooden coasters.
