It is actually a little surprising that Carowinds hasn't converted this aging thirty four year old  Vortex into a sit-down to help increase ridership, get a "new" ride for little investment, and add a few years to it.



Ricochet is Carowinds Mack Rides designed wild mouse coaster.



Ricochet is a peppy little ride with a few moments of airtime but its bigger sibling; Apple Zapple at Kings Dominion, is a significantly better ride.



As oppressively hot as it was out there were two locations that we found to retreat to after every third or fourth ride to cool down in.  One of them was Chickie's & Pete's over by Ricochet and the other was the Harmony Hall over by Thunder Striker.  Without being able to cool down this trip would have ended like my previous Carowinds trip, with most of us ending up in first aid for heat exhaustion.



The Carolina Cyclone is our next stop on our day at Carowinds.
