The Whizzer was the parks original coaster when it opened in 1976.  It's known as a Speed Racer and it was designed by Anton Schwarzkopf.  It's a really fun and frisky little coaster.  It has plenty of banked turns and dives and is not to be missed.

There used to be Speed Racer coasters in California, Texas and Missouri but they have all been destroyed or sold and the Whizzer is the only ride of it's kind left in North America and is quite a treasure so ride it when you can.

The Whizzer was first named Williards Whizzer.  Willard was the name of the CEO of Marriott when they first opened the park and was removed when Six Flags purchased it.
