The Gauntlet Roller Coaster at Magic Springs and Crystal Falls Water and Theme Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Bond thought the sign was extremely fitting and that I had to lead off with it.

Gauntlet is a Vekoma Suspended Looping Coaster that was added to Magic Springs in 2004.

It wasn't initially destined for Magic Springs. It was built for Jazzland (later Six Flags New Orleans) but that deal fell through so Magic Springs got a deal on it.

Most of the park is wooded and you can barely see it from the highway so Gauntlet was built downhill and a little away from the rest of the park so everyone driving by on the highway can see that there is indeed a operating amusement park there. Basically the ride has a second purpose as a billboard for the park.

Coasters like Gauntlet look cool, especially to teenagers.
