Lost Island Theme Park, Waterloo, Iowa

The first I ever heard of Lost Island was when news broke on social media that a small water park in Iowa had purchased Kanonen from Liseberg in Sweden.  What was fascinating was that all of the rumors were that the Lost Island Water Park was really a middleman to disguise the park the coaster was really going to.

When the park was announced though I sat up and really started to pay attention as it is not like a brand new $100 million + theme park is getting built just three and a half hours away from you.  The Lost Island Theme Park has been something I was excited about as soon as I heard about it, I got even more excited after my first construction tour and even more excited after my second construction tour and today both Bond and I were ready to go as soon as we walked up to the gate of Lost Island.

We had our tickets and more importantly we had the Lost Island Adventure Guide loaded on our phones and ready to experience all the different layers of storytelling that has been the basis for Lost Island.

Lost Island is not just a park, it is not just some rides, it is not just a theme, it is not just an app.  Lost island is all of that tied together to create a story where you get to play a part.

Lost Island is like Disneyland, Pokemon Go, mythology, and your standard theme park all rolled into one.
