Netflix...what are you watching?

Post by Paul Drabek » Sun Apr 21, 2013 7:48 pm

Ok...I know some of you have Netflix too. So what are you watching and what do you recommend?

I'm always watching the second best Canadian export after Bratman...that is The Trailer Park Boys. Also right now we're watching The Hunger Games and it's a really amazing movie.

So post whatever you come across that's cool so the rest of us can check it out.

Have Fun

I'm going thru Star Trek Next Generation and some random movies. Any good recommendations would help. Hopefully season 3 of The Walking Dead will load soon so I can catch up on the craziness I've missed.

They normally add the previous season of TWD right before the next season starts so look for it in October.

I have been watching the Trailer Park Boys and It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia. I prefer to watch 30 min sitcoms as they tend to not tie me down and lose a whole hour watching TV. Comedies are my favorite as they allow me to watch with less investment in emotions and intellect with a lighter side and elevated mood. As Readers Digest would say, Comedy is the best medicine.

If you didn't already watch House of Cards (the Netflix original, not the British version - although I hear it's really good, too) then make some time for it.
The episodes are about an hour long each, but it has a way of making you say, "just one more episode" until you've spent the majority of a weekend slamming coffee and gaping at the screen in disbelief thinking, "no WAY did they just go there... holy cow, that's gonna change EVERYTHING"

Kevin Spacey is at the top of his game and that woman who plays his wife (can't recall her name, but I really like her) actually manages to steal every scene she's in. Their relationship - give it a few episodes to get the real scoop - is one of the most twisted, fascinating relationships I've ever seen on screen.

I've been on a historical kick lately. Watched a few episodes of the Tudors (I believe it was an HBO series?) but got bored with it quickly as it's just the life of Henry VIII. Then watched the newer release of Vanity Fair. Going through the 80's version of Pride and Prejudice right now. I read about 1/3 of the book and got tired of fighting through the old English, so it's nice to see how the story plays out. I know, I'm weird. I pretty much do not watch modern shows.

Sons of Anarchy.

If you like drama and action with a twist of MacBeth, then you'll love this show.

It's seriously awesome.

Glee, and Walking Dead when Season three comes on. I'm taking a break from Supernatural.

I do like to watch some of the old Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes over on Amazon although Netflix does have the MST3K movie.

I've watched the entire series of Breaking Bad and Family Guy. Currently, I'm watching Bob's Burgers and The Cleveland show. What I really need to continue is The Wonder Years, and Freaks n Geeks. Just haven't found the time to start them up again.

I tried Breaking Bad which was a great show but it was hard to tune in as grim as it was getting. I stick with various movies (action, sci-fi and some classic horror) and The Trailer Park Boys.

The shows I watch are Parks and Rec and the Andy Griffith Show. Nothing else really seems interesting to me.

What are people watching nowadays? I've loved Altered Carbon and Lost in Space this year a lot. I guess Westworld season 2 wasn't that bad either. Currently, I'm not watching anything so I'd love a recommendation or two.

I have good news that they are filming in Stockbridge now- they use one of the older schools to film for Hawkins middle. The bad news is who knows how long production maybe and all the post effects they have to add for the upside down :?
