Six Flags St. Louis FrightFest

Post by TNT » Sun Sep 15, 2013 6:00 pm

This year FrightFest will have four mazes, Zombie Paintball Hayride, and the By-Polar Express. The mazes are Blind Fury (located between Mr. Freeze and Thunder River), Slaughter House (next to the mine train), Total Darkness (located across from Hannibarrels), and Insanity Ally (located near Batman exit)

After employee preview night I will be able to say which mazes are the best.

I always thought a good place for a maze would be the queue for Thunder River.

A while ago they thought about having one in Thunder River after it is drained, then they discovered when the trough got a little wet it got really slick so they scraped the idea.

Yeah but they do that at Great America as we walked through the rapids for what was a pretty lame haunt last year.
Life is short....have fun!

Interesting.

The only time I've ever been really queasy after a ride was on the swing ride at MoA - after riding in one of the backward-facing seats.

I wonder if they've tested this out much yet? -Mike

Alright just got back from preview night. I only got to go to three of the attractions, many opened late because the first group of people were used for fire drill test. The first haunted house that opened was the Slaughter House, if you are easily scared then you will get scared. I didn't find it scary. Then I went to Total Darkness, we were spit into groups of six and handed a rope to help keep the group together then sent into the maze. The scariest part was being in the dark, they only had two people in the maze that tried to scare people, but you know they were there because they made too much noise. They were wearing black full body suits so they blended in with the black walls and the extreme dim lights, even when they made noise you couldn't tell where they were at, which is a little creepy. The last thing we did was the hay-ride paint-ball. I was looking forward to this but it wasn't very good. There was two big explosions, and a guy on a machine gun shooting at you. But on the side I was on there were four zombies. From what the Zombie Expert that rides in the back said it sounded like they were understaffed.

I hope the frights improve before Saturday but its not likely. I heard Insanity Ally was decent. When the freaks where unleashed from the train was pretty good, girls were screaming and it could be frighting for many.

My opinion may not be the best as I thought Creepy World in Fenton was boring. The only haunted house I got scared at was a corn maze at a Pumpkins and Pines.
