Rumbler placed on Brakes

Postby OCD Posterchild » Thu Feb 23, 2006 12:11 pm

From Beech Bend's Charlotte Gonzalez,

The Kentucky Rumbler won't be rumbling for a while, a new part is needed, that wasn't expected, the part may be installed within 2 to 3 weeks. This is only a minor setback, the coaster is still way ahead of deadline.

Even though I live but 3 minutes from the park,
I wont be able to get any pictures since I will be waiting for my tour to get those.
I am also able to use the tour as a class assignment and will be quite in depth.

Rumbler shots will be given to Paul, who should, as many would guess, post them up on Negative-G in the Beech Bend Park section.

Sorry for delays...

Hey Brian;

Thanks for being my eyes down in Bowling Green and for the pictures. I'll get them up after you get them as soon as I can.

Have Fun

It'll be open for the season. This is just a couple of weeks delay and they've got what 70 some days before the season begins with 100% of the structure and track work done as well as having the train on the track and the mechanincals, sensors and other equipment installed.

This is nothing to worry about...The Rumbler will be ready to Rumble starting may 6.

Have Fun

Paul

Ha ha ha, maybe I need to clarify...

The Trackwork and all electrical work is done, the cars are on the track.
They are even together, but not moveable, since the motor for the chain
(i think this is the motor she is referring to) needs to be replaced, I guess it was a Lemon.

Paul et. al. :

The Rumbler is indeed on the tracks and all mechanical, structural and control systems are complete.

The "Part" that Charlotte referred to is actually a "Buck-Boost" transformer to help boost the line voltage available for the motor. The existing transformer at the park just couldn't deliver the juice by itself and needs a little help.

The motor is not being replaced. No parts are being replaced.

Rumbler will be rolling with no problems come May!

Best Regards,
Jeff

Hey Jeff;

Thanks for letting us know what was going on and thank you for your hard work on The Rumbler, Thunderhead and all of the other fantastic coasters that you and everyone at GCI have been a part of. Also welcome to the boards. Feel free to post or reply here whenever you feel like it.

Have Fun

Paul
