Waukesha Beach

Postby Woodpecker » Fri May 07, 2010 5:15 am

I found this interesting little article on Waukesha Beach the other day. Waukesha Beach was home to a Fred Church Bobs coaster, similar in plan to the Rye Airplane, and the article contains a park map showing the general layout of the ride plus a great action shot of a train negotiating the station house curve.

It also has some stuff on the other attractions including an interview with a man who worked in the Fun House. :)

Awesome article and info. That's a great resource for say doing a No Limits recreation. Is it me or does the layout of the Bobs look kind of reminiscent of the Rye Aeroplane?

I wish I could find more photos of this ride so I could make a copy of it.

Have Fun

Yes, the layout is related but the ride itself would have been less intense overall. It had just the one helix, and the radii of the curves were wider than those on the Airplane. Also the cartographer made a few mistakes in his rendition, although he's got the general shape correct. :)
