Picture Sizes

Post by Paul Drabek » Sat Jun 14, 2008 6:13 am

Hey all

I'm sitting here working on editing my photos from my SFGAm trip and I was wondering what you all thought on the sizes of my photos for Negative-G. I currently format my horizontal photos to 550 pixels wide and my vertical shots to 400 pixels wide. I set those formatting guidelines back in the days of dial up and 800X600 screen resolutions but my current screen size is 1440X900. So should I size up?

Have Fun

IMO, the bigger the better when it comes to viewing pictures online.

I'd say go up to 640x480 at least. I've always used 800x600.

I'd sort of like you to have the picture sizes go up more, I mean I often have some hard times when giving a try to post my photos on, because they have always much bigger sizes than I would think.

He means in his photo reports, not here on the forum.

I'll do a test today with my EK construction report (it was running and I got some fantastic in action shots) with my photos a bit larger. I doubt I'll go up to 800X600 as I still want people to view my site like they're turning the pages of a book. If the photos are too big they'll miss the rest of it as I view my pages as a narrative where the story is told by text and photos.

Have Fun
