Visited Once & Really Want To Visit Again

Enthusiast coaster & amusement park chatter about whatever. If it's not about coasters & parks, it'll go to the garbage file. Keep it on-topic and flame-retardant, please.

Visited Once & Really Want To Visit Again

Post by Paul Drabek » Mon Nov 10, 2014 7:13 pm

Hey everyone;

What park that you have visited once but really want to get back to and why?

For myself it would be Canada's Wonderland. That park really struck a chord with me. From the super cool Wonder Mountain in the middle of the park giving the entire place an almost whimsical magical feel. The rides (with the exception of the Volare, SLC and Boomerang) are pretty much top notch with some unexpected surprises like Thunder Run and Vortex. The park has a great carousel and I really like that there is space where someone could just go and chill out on the grass and watch Vortex fly overhead. Behemoth was fun (although not something I can ert on) and Leviathan is amazing. The park was friendly and the food was great. To round it all off Bratman is a local so getting back there would mean that we would get to hang which is a big plus.

What is your park?

If I had to choose just one I would say SFGAm. Such an awesome Park with several credits I need to snag since my last visit in 2002.

Paul, what is it about Behemoth that you wouldn't be able to participate in an ERT on it?

It is up down up down up down turn up down up down up down up down turn station. The non stop up down after about 5-10 laps made myself and others really queasy during the ERT session at Leviamania.

For me...... Canobie Lake Park.

Why? A fun medium sized woodie. A really cool dark ride. RCT like buildings.

For me it's between Holiday World, Kentucky Kingdom and Indiana Beach.

I really want to get back to Holiday World. Went once in 2013 and loved the whole experience. I have great incentive now with Thunderbird opening up next year. However, it may still take a couple years.

One park I am DEFINITELY going back to is Hersheypark. Visited there in 2013 on the same trip as HW and loved it, too. Such a wonderful, well-rounded experience, not to mention hosting my #1 coaster, Skyrush. It's part of my itinerary for next year to get back here at least once. Paul I see you're doing some of the Pennsylvania parks next year - would love to meet up with you guys for at least a couple of these parks.

It should be the second week or so of July. My goal is to get to Hershey and Dorney at least as I have not been to either. I will let you know when.

Dorney was just such a great little park. It really reminds me of a small park with charm, but has some great rollercoasters. Obviously Hydra is a favorite there, but Steel Phantom is a favorite as well.

Plus some really neat flats and awesome food make this park a gem in my eyes - at least out of the 25 or so Draven and I have hit.

Steel Force? Phantom was at Kennywood until modded into Phantom's Revenge...
Dorney's coaster collection surprised me as much as any park I've visited. Just hadn't heard much, wasn't expecting much. I was quite taken by Thunderhawk.

For me I need a redo at SFNE. Was visiting a college roomie when I dragged him there and he just isn't into coasters as much as I am, so it was a short visit. Very painful for a opening to closing coaster nut... I could use a lot more rides on Bizarro
More later,

Tour

Busch Gardens at Tampa because when I was there for one day Cheetah Hunt just so happened to be broken down so I would really like to get back there.

I loved SFNE. For whatever reason before my first visit Waterboy said it had no charm but I found it to be the opposite. Bizarro rocks, Dark Knight is fun, LOVE the Thunderbolt, Catwoman's Whip has the most visually appealing theming element and the new RMC Cyclone should rock.
