The shockwave at KD is still a fun ride. The mini-airtime hill right after the loop is pretty good, and overall the ride isn't that jerky.

This was posted in a Facebook group too. Considering the amount of work they've put into it recently (new paint, etc) I'd be surprised to see it leaving so soon. But, you never know. Ouimet's not a fan of keeping old rides around, as evidenced by two of CP's oldest rides leaving this year. However, my official stance on rumors is this: Magnum is sinking.

I've not heard anything about Magnum. Whats the scoop?

Magnum sinking is the biggest false rumor in the industry. Every industry has one of those - in car sales, it's breakaway engine mounts. Everyone thinks they exist, and they don't. Magnum isn't sinking, and yet that rumor has been running rampant for at least 10 or 15 years. I point to it as the reason to never fully believe rumors. You never know where they started or how much truth is behind them. What's funniest about the Magnum rumor is that it has continued to spread to other Arrow coasters. I've heard guests at Kings Island say (for several years now) that Vortex is being removed next year because it's sinking. We're trying to get it started at Dollywood. So, did you know Tennessee Tornado is sinking?

Lol I thought you meant "sinking" as in being removed haha! I actually went and googled it haha! Oh man I'm weird lol!

Well, that's part of the rumor. That it's being taken out next year (whichever year that might be) because it's sinking into the beach. I'm sure it started because it's built mostly over sand. It's entertaining none-the-less. People will tell you in all seriousness that it's 100% true, they heard it from such-and-such important person. Around here, we refer to that person as the Dippin Dots guy, because all "important" park news seems to come from someone who works at the park but has absolutely no clue about the actual operations of it, like a foods person.

I actually saw a guy at Cedar Point wearing a shirt that said "Magnum is sinking" on the front and I almost died laughing.

I too have experienced the silly thoughts of guests that are not as, for lack of a better term, educated as enthusiasts. When I was at Sea World Orlando a guy in line behind me for Steel Eel told the rest of the people in his party that the first hill is 600 ft tall! I about died lol!

I just re-read my last post and just noticed I said Sea World Orlando, when I meant to say Sea World San Antonio. I just wanted to make that correction.

Just heard this news. Gump is now crying while writing this...sob..darn auto correct meant sobb. I guess sob works too. Lol. Needed a reason to go to kd.

"Better" is relative Bratman as both of them are Togo's and thusly suck (except for Ultra Twisters as they were good).

QFT. I fully expected the Canadian version to suck as hard as the KD one, but was blown away. It was one of my favorite rides that day.
