Indiana Beach Problems

Enthusiast coaster & amusement park chatter about whatever. If it's not about coasters & parks, it'll go to the garbage file. Keep it on-topic and flame-retardant, please.

Indiana Beach Problems

Post by Paul Drabek » Wed Sep 14, 2011 7:53 pm

Man the whole Indiana Beach saga has gotten messed up in recent months. First there were the protests and employees quitting over lack of maintenance and now after announcing a $10 POP deal for the next few weekends the park just announced that they were closed for the season and deleted their whole presence on Facebook. What the hell is going on there?

Honestly does Morgan RV Resorts have a clue as to how to run an amusement park or even a business? They just pissed off the entire local market as well as created a whole lot of bad feelings to their entire customer base. Word of mouth kills and mix that in with this social networked world and they're going to kill the park.

My hope is that they either sell the park or contract out to Hirschend to run the park. I love Indiana Beach but I'm glad I got there to score all it's coasters and to really experience it because a few more years like this and it's gone.

Have Fun

IB Crow still has his page. However the "wall" has been wiped clean. The "info" page does explain whats going on, and does mention that they will have their "social sites" working again "shortly". So, we shall see what happens.....

Honestly I don't feel very confident on the park surviving much longer, parks don't just up and close unless something really bad is about to go down like closing for good...

Maybe Morgan's legal problems in Massachusetts has something to do with it?

Ahhh I will be horribly upset if I don't get to experience those tacos anymore!

I am bummed to hear about all this going on. I really enjoyed IB and I'm glad I made it out there in 2010. I'm kinda wishing I would've gone this year now. Anyway, I hate to talk like the park is for certain doomed and I hope they can straighten up their problems.

We need those small, unique, charming parks.

Yes the world needs all the Indiana Beach, Arnolds Parks, Lake Winnepeseukah's and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalks we can get.

Been a while since I been on here. I don't know what is going on there, been reading a few groups on facebook and someone posted that electricity to the park was shut off due to non payment. The park claims it is due to saving electricity over the winter. A whole bunch of workers have been laid off including management and maintenance workers that are there year round. The same groups also said that the park was supposedly for sale, but who knows.

All I know is there isn't a whole lot of confidence in the management of Morgan RV and no one is sure of the parks continued survival under them.

We'll just have to see next spring.

i just hope things get better as i love fascination, the flat rides that are over the water, tigr'r, locosumo, the food, the paddlewheel boat tour... ...i just love the place as a whole (even if it is ghetto), just hate that i missed out on the oppertunity for the putt-putt that by the giant wheel.

I don't know how reliable screamscape is, but apparently they laid off the head of operations and most of the engineering crew two weeks ago:

That is 100% accurate. They were added to a facebook group that I got some information from. They would not have joined the group if they still worked there.

Not sure if it means anything but thought I saw a picture of Indiana Beach folks at IAAPA.
