Let's Chat.

Enthusiast coaster & amusement park chatter about whatever. If it's not about coasters & parks, it'll go to the garbage file. Keep it on-topic and flame-retardant, please.

Hey everyone, I'm new to this board, I just wanted to jump in and say hello. Love the site, Paul, you have a great site with some great pics. Nice to see that you visit some smaller, out of the way parks as well as the big guns.

As for me, I live in eastern PA, close to Knoebels, Hershey and Dorney-grew up with all three.

There was a character in the movie Fletch named Jim Swarthout, long time ago I was looking for a username for something, been using it ever since. My real name is Steve.

Fletch was a great movie. I wish Kevin Smith had done his reboot of the series.

Yeah that would have been a great remake. I go through periods where I watch Fletch several times/week.

I have never been that fanatic about that movie but it is a good one.

Probably one of the best Chevy Chase movies right up there with Vacation.

This forum does have a chatroom. The link to it is at the top between "FAQ" and "Search." This page is more about chatting with Paul. :)

Paul, on your TR page about John Ivers' Blue Flash, you said you were trying to lose some weight so you could ride. Did you ever make it back and take the coaster for a spin? What was it like?

It was the most painful ride of my life...I ended up with a migraine that lasted for two days. Your head stayed in one place while your body rotated around it in the loop. Also the drop was like falling off of a roof. I had two laps and that was more than enough.

That sounds like fun! Really. Like a headline instead of heartline.

Hey everyone the old chat software is now gone. Replacing it is our new fangled chat software called "Comet Chat". Instead of clicking on a link at the top of the page there is now a "Chat Bar" at the bottom of the screen where you can do a few things. You can join a group chat by clicking on the Chatrooms button on the left side or you can individually chat with whoever is online by clicking on the "Who's Online" button on the right side.

When you click on the Chatroom button for a group chat you can click on a room (By default there is just one room right now but people can create more even on the fly by clicking on "Create Chatroom") in order to join in. To create a separate window for the chatroom click on "Popout" and the chatroom will be in its own larger window.

To share photos and files in the individual or group chats click on the button that looks like a hard drive with a blue arrow above it. That will open a second window where you are able to select the file (I am unsure about the file size limit but pictures go through just fine) and then upload it to the chat. Once you send a file in a group chat it is out there for anyone in chat to download. If you want to see the photo click on the link that shows up on your chat and your computer will download and open the photo. What is nice is now you can share any photo in chat instead of just those that are already online like in our old chat software.

I will see over the coming weeks about adding some of our special smileys back to the chat.

The big reason I added this software is that it has the ability for people to chat one on one and I really like making it so that all of us can connect to each other easier. So while surfing keep the a tab open for the forums and see if anyone is online and say hi.

Have fun!
