I've changed my username from Woodpecker to Sora (after the Kingdom Hearts character).

I tried to change mine today, but it wouldn't let me.
What did I do wrong?

I think there is a bug in the forum's system. Paul changed it for me. I'll put up an avatar later.

Way back in the dark ages at the beginning of the age of BBS's, I went by the handle "CptBeeble" based on a video game cartridge for the Atari 800XL computer that I beta tested.
I've been trying to wrangle all the different handles I use on different sites into a single handle and I've been going with that one. If you get a chance, I'd appreciate the change. It's a LOT easier to say than "TC10K" anyway.

What inspired the TC10K username?

TC = Texas Cyclone 10K = +10,000 rides. Am I correct Jim?

Yes, I spent 3 summers flat broke living across the street from SFAW. I'd get a season pass for christmas, so the park was free - and since I could walk over there, I didn't even need to pay for parking. I had a part-time job at UPS then where I'd go to work at 3am and get home around 8am. Everyone else I knew was either heading to work or heading to school and I had NO MONEY. So I started going to the park and riding the Cyclone.
Back then, they had a no-single-rider policy - they literally would not dispatch a train with a single rider in a seat. During the week, this was a problem, since there was usually a single rider on every train and nobody in the station to pair him/her up with. I sorta became the "designated seat filler." The ride ops all got to know me and rather than make me walk around the exit/entrance again, they'd just have me stand behind the chain at the exit ramp and if I saw a single rider, I'd hop in and fill the seat. Good for the ops, good for me! There were times when I'd be on nearly every train out of the station. I could easily rack up 50 rides in a day before heading home... or to Water World to cool off... or to another ride or several more rides. So M-F at 50 rides per day = 250 rides per week. That's 1000 rides per month and I did this for three summers. The park was usually daily from May-August, so that's 4000 rides per summer, not including when I'd go to the park on weekends with friends or something. Granted, I didn't go EVERY SINGLE DAY, but I'm just averaging it out. Some days I'd spend the whole day on the Cyclone and get close to 100 rides. Other days, I wouldn't go at all. So I probably hit 10K rides just in those three summers, and untold numbers of rides in the other 26 yrs it was open.
