Cedar Point for the First Time

Next Tuesday and Wednesday my dad and I will be at Cedar Point for the first time, and I was wondering if you guys had any tips for the two days. We have early entry, so my initial thought is to hit Steel Vengeance first, then probably Maverick, Millennium Force, and maybe Valravn, and then head for Top Thrill Dragster once the park opens. If any of you have other ideas, I'm all ears! I'm open to any other suggestions you all might have as well!

I'm also wondering how Cedar Point compares to Kings Island and Valleyfair, as those are the only other Cedar Fair parks I've been to. I love the charm of Kings Island, but don't really care for the feel of Valleyfair too well, so I was wondering where Cedar Point lies between the two.

There is charm in the Frontier area. Mostly, its a collection of roller coasters. Definitely head straight to Steel Vengeance, and be there before the early entry. Its a long walk back, unless you park in the waterpark parking.

Okay, that's what I was thinking it'd be like. Thanks Paul! We decided to stay at the Breakers so we can use the entrance by Magnum and hopefully get ahead of the crowd that way.

Steel Vengance and TTD early. Also make sure to spend some serious time on the Blue Streak. It is a classic.

My dad and I loved this park. I think of it as a cross between Silver Dollar City and Kings Island, with a little bit of Indiana Beach, being on the lake and all. We were lucky enough on Tuesday to have a forecasted 70% chance of rain, but not being hit by it at all, which caused everything to be a walk on except Steel Vengeance and Maverick. Wednesday was busier and sunnier, but still enjoyable.

We rode SV, MF, TTD, Blue Streak, Magnum, Maverick, and the train twice, and Cedar Downs four or five times because my dad loves it. Maverick was my favorite, and MF was my dad's favorite. Steel Vengeance is great, and the best RMC we've been on, just as expected. The big surprise for me was how great Magnum and Blue Streak were, especially in the back seat. Overall, this park surprised us both with its charm, and is now the second favorite park for both of us, following Silver Dollar City.

I did get pictures! They're not the greatest, and it took me a while to edit them, but there sure are a lot of them, so I hope you enjoy them.

Hey Spencerman

Awesome pictures I love them! Where did you get the shot of the Corkscrew from? I have not seen that angle before?

Feel free to post away with pictures here wherever you go.

Have Fun!

Paul

I'm glad you guys like them! I found a couple more I thought were worth something, so here they are.

Vonni, you should definitely go back someday! The park is an absolute blast, and I think it's had a few improvements in recent years that have made the park beautiful. Maverick and Steel Vengeance are both top tier coasters, as well, and they've got a really cool theme with the three characters from Steel Vengeance. There are even Wanted posters for them all throughout Frontier Town. I'm curious to see what Coaster Con 44 will be like when they co-host it in 2021.
