Provisionally the dates are the 17th to the 27th of August this year, although it might be a little earlier in July. I should know in the next few days for certain. Kat is going to take me on a road trip around the eastern parks. Our itinerary is roughly as follows:

Friday 17th: Knoebel's Grove
Saturday: Hershey Park
Sunday: Lakemont and Idlewild
Monday: Kennywood
Tuesday: Waldameer, and Conneaut Lake if they're open (hours not available yet)
Wednesday: Cedar Point
Thursday: Columbus Zoo and Coney Island, or possibly a rest day
Friday: King's Island
Saturday or Sunday: Holiday World

Thursday and Sunday are the two wobbly dates at the moment.

So basically Kat is breaking me in on my first ever woodies, and taking me on a history trip of the amusment park. Is anybody free to join us? It would be nice to meet a few of you in person at last. :)

That sounds awesome! I wish you were coming closer as I'd love to meet up with you but that's Bonds first week of school so no trips then.

Still you'll have fun just make sure you play some Fascination at Knoebels.

We're doing a little editing and rearranging. If he's able to get approved for a little additional time off, we can work in ACE Preservation Con and will shift everything around a bit. We'll still be covering all the same parks, plus the pres con parks.

So long as we do all the parks currently planned, he's going to break 100 coasters (from a current count of 21!!) before the end of the trip, and I've already planned out his first major landmark.

Just kidding; it would be great to see you. :)

My plane tickets are now booked and I will be in the States from the evening of the 8th to the evening of the 29th of August. Now for a dumb question for those who have been: what happens at preservation con? Google is not throwing up much and what it does has either already expired or is insufficiently detailed. I know there is ERT on the coasters, but is that it? The ACE home page isn't much good as there's no flier out yet, and the only event it really discusses is Coaster Con.

According to events director Paul Blick the flyer should be out in a week or so.

You will get tons of ERT, group meals (buffet), backstage tours, and door prizes.

I would be there, but I have a big trip to the west coast to pay for shortly thereafter.

We've decided to call it off for this year. Due to recent events and her wedding, it's just not going to work. So instead, it's something we'll be able to plan properly for next year, when we can choose a better time and she won't be rightly and completely pre-occupied with the biggest day of her life.

Bummer but I totally understand. Whenever you two start planning we need to work out some sort of a big -G get together for you at a park. Maybe a big -G day at IB if that's a park you want to hit.

I like the way you think, Paul! With an entire off season to plan, I think we can make a better go of it. Plus I won't be dealing with moving, healing a pretty bad injury, and an upcoming wedding and honeymoon all at the same time. Next year will be much more relaxed!!

That's quite a line-up of parks! I always tell folks PA is the hot spot for a variety of coasters. Have you ever been to Holiday World? If not, you may want to skip Kings Island and do that instead. It's just an idea
