Dave Roemer is retiring at the end of the season

What's in planning, what's being built now, what's rumored.

Dave Roemer is retiring at the end of the season

Post by Vonni » Tue Oct 20, 2015 11:21 pm

I don't know how many of you have already heard, but I thought I'd post this for those who had not.

I'm happy for Dave. He has really made a great legacy. He deserves this, and a great retirement. I understand he is being replaced by the Director of Operations from SFNE.

With that being said, I am really nervous for our park. I don't know if that is warranted or not, but its hard to believe that anyone else would care for the park, its future, and its guests the way Dave does. I only hope I'm wrong. I don't want to see our park dwindle down to a big nothing piece of junk. Fingers crossed. Thoughts?

I heard this but took it as a rumor. Has there been any official word?

I am thankful for Dave and all the hard work he has done. SFNE is wonderfully run so I have no concerns about this being a bad thing. Maybe a little new blood is what SFSTL needs to be able to compete a bit better with regional big boys like Holiday World and Silver Dollar City.

I read it on another forum, which I would not consider a reliable news source. But the poster worked in Guest Relations and was recently promoted to Full time human resources so that's why I considered it credible information.

Sorry, I should have worded this post as "I've heard" rather than wording it as a fact.

Lol, lets just say its not a popular forum amongst many enthusiasts. I think most can figure it by that. I don't want to link it as I feel it would be disrespectful to Negative-g.

I did get an email from Dave confirming that he is indeed retiring in February. I wish we had known at Daredevil Daze so we could have done something for him then but maybe we could have him come as a guest for Daredevil Daze 2016.
