What's in planning, what's being built now, what's rumored.

I'm glad for a new ride, but I have always wanted to try a rotor. The Silly Silo opened with the park in '74. Which makes next year the 40th anniversary of Adventureland. So it makes sense why they are adding this monstrosity. (Which will be the tallest ride in Iowa! :D)
I can't wait to see construction!
Oooh. That explains the whole sudden Giant Windseeker-like ride that seemed to have popped out of nowhere. That's the thing with these smaller parks. They know how to keep their mouths shut. :D

Well, now I'm guessing there will be something big in 2016 for MA, as that will be the parks 60th anniversary. Lol, I'm still kind of amused that MA is already past 50, and most Cedar Fair Parks are only reaching 40.

I hope MA gets something. It looks like it has a cool location, and some good rides.
I'm actually inferring that Storm Chaser is for the 40th. It could be because Silly Silo is really old and the area is perfect (Storm Chaser will be right next to the Tornado), but if I am correct, and this is for the 40th, I will hope for a coaster in 10 years.

Round Ups and rotors are two different rides with the same general principle. Rotors don't tilt - they have a moveable floor that drops from under riders' feet and leaves them "stuck" to the walls while the ride spins.

The walls are made of rubbery mats, sorta like a door mat, and while this provides the necessary cushion and friction needed to keep people in place once the floor drops, it's also easy for liquids and small bits to wedge themselves into the surface, making it very difficult to clean. That's not a great feature when you have a ride that spins a lot.

The one at SFAW would be closed for HOURS if someone hurled on it. The spinning would pretty much guarantee that all the ick would find its way deep into the rubber mats. Eww.

Really? Though I haven't been on it, in the photos I've seen, there are no cushions. Just a wall.

It IS just a wall, in the same way that a doormat looks like a mat. It's actually rubber with a bajillion little rubber "fingers" sticking up, very close together. Imagine a big, flat, rubber sea anemone and you get the idea. If there wasn't any sort of softness to the walls, those G-forces on the back of your skull and shoulder blades would be really painful.

Ooooh, I see it. I was looking at photos that were kind of far away.

OKAY! I was just happened to be looking at a roller coaster sight for the first time in a long while, when I stumbled upon this!

So, today after lunch my dad and I had nothing to do, so we drove over to the old Adventureland park. I snagged a few photos and talked to a security guard who was very informational. So, Adventureland paid over $3 million for the ride. It will be 11 stories, compared to 10.5 stories of the Space Shot. He was friendly, as well as a guy driving a forklift who passed us and said, "Already in line for the ride, I see," with a huge smile on his face.

Looks like a game changer for the park, Spencerman. Good to hear the tough security guard was a nice person.
