2012....So What Are We Getting?

Post by Paul Drabek » Tue Aug 30, 2011 8:04 pm

Hey all;

So we're smack dab in the middle of announcement season and here's what we're getting that's confirmed:
  • Leviathan at CW (I love the name and wow I want to ride this) - B&M Giga!!!!!
  • Mammoth at HW - big water coaster
  • Windseeker at Carowinds
  • Leftover anamatronic dinosaurs from the 1980's at Cedar Point
  • Manta at Sea World San Diego
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at WDW
  • Invertigo at Dorney
  • Deja Vu at SFNE
  • Skyrush at Hershey
  • Iron Wolf at SFA

Unconfirmed
  • A B&M at Dollywood
  • A B&M - possibly a Wing Rider at SFGAM
  • Waterpark expansion for SFStL
Anything else we should add to this?

Have Fun

Paul

How bout that coaster that is supposed to replace BBW, I think that is supposed to open in 12. I know they have started construction.

Who knows, maybe 2012 will be the year of the Flying Turns?

You know Paul with all you're bragging Cedar Fair will forget about Canada's Wonderland for a couple of decades while the rest of us get B&M Strata's.

Have Fun

Nah, you see thats where the rub is.... Cedar Fair recognizes that Wonderland is its highest attended seasonal park, and a cash cow at that. It might be 3 or 4 years again, but there will be something big once more coming this way :)

I must say this is turning out to be one of the best years for new coasters that I have seen in a while.

after what I've heard about Iron Wolf, I really hope there are new trains put on, or some kind of refurbishing. I'm staying optimistic because it's our first coaster in 10 years, and I really hope something big comes in the following years.

I am glad my home park is getting something, even if it is for the waterpark, which realyl did need something new.

I am so excited about Dollywood's new coaster...we may be going there next summer.

SFoG is getting new shows. Shows aren't always my thing but the entertainment has been severely lacking the pass few years so I say yay! It'd be great if they can finally unitize the arena for something instead of it being empty most of the year round, grated I doubt it. Also with additions that don't seem very costly they can do some sprucing up around the park.

So with most of the announcements done what impresses you the most?

For me it's Leviathan, X-Flight and Wild Eagle in that order.

Have Fun
