Holiday World 2011

@HolidayWorld Thanks for some great Labor Day weekend family time. Holidog's FunTown is the best idea for families with little kids.
To which Paula tweeted back...
@babytoolkit In that case ... I think you'll *really* like what we're adding for 2011! :0) #HW
So I guess we'll see some Funtown expansion?

Maybe adding a bunch of kids rides down in Thanksgiving? IMHO Thanksgiving needs to be fleshed out with a few more rides and shops.

Have Fun

I agree but lets make it family rides so I can ride too. I'm thinking something like Grand Expo at SDC.

Well, if they get a swinging ship, you can guarantee you won't be seeing me on it. :) Though I do agree with you, that would be an excellent addition to the Thanksgiving section.

That would be fun! And very easy to theme. Perfect.

Why don't you like swinging ships?

How about having 3 swinging ships and naming them the Pinta, Nina, and Santa Maria. Practical, no. Fun idea, sure.

Childhood fear. I've been terrified of them since I almost fell out of one at a fair. I rode one for the first time in probably 15 years at Indiana Beach. Ask Nick and Mike (illinois) about it - I had a white-knuckle death grip on the bar and my eyes closed through the whole ride. And we were in the middle row.

I have the same fear, I can ride most everything but swinging ships. I have only ridden them once and it was in the middle. I have heard that sitting on the ends is better though since you are only high once.

Oh wow, that's so funny. Hubby hates them too and so does one of our close friends. He's gotten over his fear but our friend, well, lets just say my hubby has a scar on his shoulder from when our friend freaked out and tried to hide under my husband's shoulder. This guy (a marine) actually dug his nails so deep into his shoulder that he drew blood.

Don't go to Neverland ranch then, I believe MJ had one there lol. I haven't ridden the swinging ships in a long time, I usually spend too much time on coasters and forget about them. The only ride I avoid is the teacups, last time I rode them I felt like I was going to puke the rest of the day.

I may never go to Beech Bend then. MJ scares the heck out of me.

So if we get Greg to sing Pretty Young Thing to you (he's a big deadhead and MJ fan) at Daredevil Daze it'll freak you out?

Have Fun

Let this be a warning to you. Do not come anywhere near anything that spins when with Nick and I. We tend to make it our goal to spin whatever vehicle (tea cups, cars on a spider, tubs on a bubble bounce, tilt-a-whirl cars, etc) as fast as they physically can go. I've been known to make people nauseous just from watching.

We had our tub on Tip Top (bubble bounce at Stricker's) spinning so fast I couldn't sit up on my own because of the g-forces. I couldn't walk straight for 5 minutes afterward. We've done similar things with tea cups at Beech Bend, Six Flags America and Six Flags Great America. And we're downright dangerous on the tilt-a-whirl.
