2013 Rumors

Hey everyone, I know I'm new to the forums, certainly not new to the -G site, but I was wanting us to talk about the new for 2013 rumors we may be hearing. I'm too excited to wait any longer lol! I have a feeling that 2013 is going to be a banner year for coasters! I'm really looking forward to SDC's new coaster. It is already looking awesome! Do any of you know anything that may be happening for WOF or SFSL?

WOF is apparently getting a Windseeker and Dinos.

I'll Post what i know

CP- "Gatekeeper" Wingrider over front area of park. Disaster Transport and Space Spiral Removed

KBF- Might be getting a B&M/Intamin Hyper or Giga

Alton Towers- Eurofighter

Silver Dollar City- "Outlaw Run"- 3 inversion Woodie with an 81 degree drop

SFFT- Rattler RMC renovation

SFMM- Launched Coaster with taller inversion than S:UF at SFDK. Premier, Intamin, or Possibly Zieier

CGAm- GCI Woodie

SFNE- I've heard Launched Coaster and 400ft SkySreamer

Michigan's Adventure, Worlds of Fun, Valleyfair, CGAm, and Dorney don't have Windseekers yet perhaps WOF and another one of these

SFSTL- Possible Boomerang from SFOT or Invertigo

SFDK- Drop Tower

SFOT- 400 ft SkyScreamer

KD- Something "record breaking".


This is what i've heard. I'll update as i hear more. Some of these are just rumors and some have been semiconfirmed

Silver Dollar City- Wooden coaster Possibly inversions

According to another thread here Outlaw will not only have an immelman but I thought I read a loop. I could be mixxing up Son of Beast with it, or that it said possible loop.

But inversions of some type. Possible -G road trip next year for sure?

Lately, SFSL is rumored to be getting a hand-me-down coaster from SFOT. Rumors are again circulating that this will be Tidal Wave's last year and the new coaster will be placed in it's spot. I wouldn't be surprised to see the bumper cars go as well.

I like the much earlier rumor of Medusa from SFGADV coming to SFSL as the SFOT rumor scares me as they could move Flashback and we don't need a boomerang in our fair city.

I had heard the rumor of Medusa as well, and really liked the idea. Now I'm nervous about possibly getting Flashback! That would really upset me! Ugh I hate how SFSTL is so neglected by the chain! We already have Boomerang at WOF, so SFSTL needs to stay original! How disappointing. Hopefully that is not the route they will take.

Honestly, I would rather just go another year without a new coaster than get a stupid Boomerang! If we do get one, I will not even ride it. Even if it would be a credit for me.

Hey last year there was some buzz about Holiday World maybe getting a steel coaster for 2013. My guess is with Bluegrass Boardwalk dead a coaster for HW would be back on the burner.

While a B&M would be a super addition to HW, I just don't see them sinking the money into one. Especially when the water park is where most guests spend the day.

True. I just can't help but wonder what it would be then. Hmm.... I guess we will soon find out.

I can tell you with a pretty fair amount of certainty that whatever Holiday World builds next, it will not be an Intamin! I've had a chat with Dan Koch about possible future rides, and he made it clear in no uncertain terms that will they not buy something from Intamin again. I could see them going with a Premier though, as Premier builds rather unique coasters, aren't as expensive as B&M, are fairly reliable (moreso than Intamin or Gerstlauer) and Dan likes their designs.

I've heard the same thing about never again with Intamin from a few sources. I'd love to see a Powder Keg family launched coaster from S&S at the park.
