I miss the old trains on SFNE's signature coaster. I don't mind the new theming or the new colors, but a tall person with large feet like myself has to cram himself into those new trains with a crowbar. The resulting G-forces (pos and neg) vary from "somewhat uncomfortable" to "painful." Airtime doesn't happen at all.

...and that's without even mentioning the shoulder chafing from those speakers they don't even use now.

Hey, with all those coaster a Von Roll Skyway, a train ride, and a Windseeker, you would think there's no other rides there those said rides and maXair! ;)

O.K. back on subject, The boat that in the middle of Darien Lake's Beaver Brothers Bay used to have a Discovery Zone/McDonald's/Chuck E. Cheese's style playplace with ball pits in it and during Six Flags ownership Darien Lake had Bug Bunny's house next to it where it like a character "meet & greet" area, Darien Lake also used to kiddie hand carts between the balloon ride and the monster trucks in Popeye's/Looney Tunes Seaport/Adventure Isle/Beaver Brothers Bay.

After Nightmare at Phantom Cave got moved to The Great Escape, the building was used as a "show house" with various show in there through the years of 1999-2011.

I miss the splashdown finale on Dollywood's version of Fire in the hole. I have enjoyed this attraction since The old Silver Dollar City days and was really disappointed with this modification. I also miss The Flooded Mine that once resided where Daredevil Fall's now sits. This year I got my flooded mine on at SDC branson and thoroughly enjoyed this similar but modified version of a beloved ride of my youth.

Check out this blog for a description of Dollywood past:

I miss Astroworld because it had THREE great Anton Schwarzkopf coasters (although there were just two when I lived there) just a few steps away from each other. Yeah they park had some issues but being the bottom of the Six Flags food chain they amassed a great lineup of coasters.

Astroworld was the Blackpool of Six Flags. Tiny little area, jam-packed with coasters. There wasn't a single spot anywhere in the park where you couldn't see at least two coasters.

I remember one year I went with my ACE regional rep (and it just kills me that I can't remember his name now... he died many years ago) on opening day and we went to Greezed Lightnin and we did the usual raising of the arms right as we heard the "all clear {click!}" and the launch nearly ripped our arms right out of their sockets! The pusher didn't even get halfway down the launch track before reaching 60mph. When we felt it back off (with the last car just barely out of the station) we both looked at each other with wild eyes and big grins and went, "WOOOOAAAAHHHHH!"

We rode it maybe ten times or so until the crowds started finding their way back there, then went on to other things.

During the day, we happened to pass by the GM, who recognized Mike (I think that was his name) and said howdy and Mike said, "OMG what did you do to Lightnin??" and the GM said, "errm, yeah, we're gonna have to adjust it again. New clutch! It's kicking a bit too hard right now, though, it'll be back to normal next weekend"

So of course, we went right back over to it and got as many OMFG rides as we could before they "fixed" it.

I miss Firecracker at Holiday World. When I was a kid that ride scared the crap out of me, and it had wicked speed going into the brake run. This what it looks like now on the traveling circuit.
