The Togo here runs pretty good man. Beer not necessary. I am not a fan of the standups, but the Skyrider is my favourite.

I miss chiller the year it got it's lap bars. I used to love the launch on that coaster, was better than Ka in my opinion.

Rotag-That reminds me of another dearly departed rapids ride,Canyon River Rapids at HP. I miss that as well.

Scrambler and Raging Seas at Darien Lake, Sizzler at Martin's Fantasy Island. I also miss the days that Darien Lake had Floodgate Falls open if Darien lake had kept it open, I'd ride it!

Here are some that I've missed "the boat" on riding it!

.Nightmare at Phantom Cave from Darien Lake
.Hangman from Opryland
.Kennywood's original Steel Phantom (with inversions)
.Raft Adventures from Darien Lake
.Wildcat from Cedar Point
.Space Spiral from Cedar Point

Hangman is still around. It is Kong at Six Flags in San Fran. I wish I could have done any of Opryland's rides. My wife visited there a few times and she really loved the indoor coaster Chaos and the parks bobsled.

Also welcome to the Negative-G Forums Pikapower. Make yourself at home and I look forward to hearing more from you.

^Duly noted about Hangman being moved to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom as "Kong". Chaos at Opryland was the only ride I would ride there at the time (I was 9 and I did care for coasters then!) despite the fact I only went to Opryland once and Hangman was there at the time, but I was too short to ride at age 9!

Cedar Point's Disaster Transport would have been better if they had kept the special effects in order instead of letting the ride be nothing more than a ghetto coaster in a box!

Nightmare at Phantom Cave was a capacity nightmare, as it also was when it was moved to the Great Escape. No more than three trains running at a time - one loading, one unloading, and one running, with there being no more than 4 on a train at a time, and quite often only two. No wonder TGE put it out of its misery. The coaster is not meant for a large park.

Nightmare at Phantom was the only coaster that Darien Lake has gotten rid of. But Martin's Fantasy Island had it share of ride removals and I could think of some rides that Martin's Fantasy Island has gotten rid of in a list.

.Nitro (it was the only Zamperla Nitro ride that operated in a park)
.Wildcat, a Schwarzkopf Wildcat coaster model (go figure!)
.Devil's Hole (The Chance Rotor version)
.Sizzler, a Wisdom Sizzler ride
.Sea Ray, a pirate ship ride
.Daredevil,a similar ride to Darien Lake's Blast Off!
.Dragon Coaster, a kiddie that was located in the vicinity of Silver Comet in the 1980s
.Crazy Bus, a kiddie version of Full Tilt
.Chaos, a Chance Chaos (Those rides had suffered a terrible fate)
.Super Spiral, a round up ride

Thats because MFI has a history of selling older rides to help finance new ones. Great move for a small park - keeps all the rides fresh.

^I wish that I could say the same thing about Darien Lake getting rid of older rides for new ones.
Since they still have some flat rides from the 1980s in operation.

So far the only rides that Darien Lake has gotten rid over years

.Crazy Quilt
.Raft Adventures
.UFO? (currently in limbo of returning next season and being scrapped)
.Funtime Junction, a train ride that went around Elk Lake
.Scrambler
.BMX Motocross, one of the original kiddie rides from "Adventure Land"
.Rainbow Mountain
.Cascade Canyon
.Floodgate Falls, rotted away to nothing by now :(

If you miss your UFO... come north of the border here. Canada's Wonderland has one.

I don't really miss Darien Lake's UFO ride, I've only ridden it twice so no biggie. Speaking of "lost" ride I do miss Darien Lake Scrambler and Sizzler at Martin Fantasy Island. I just don't understand why so many theme park are getting rid of Scramblers.

It is probably a cost of maintaining issue vs "what else can we do with this spot"?

Smaller parks like Waldameer and Centreville still have theirs.

Cedar Point still has their Scrambler and they also have a Huss Troika ride and a Mack Calypso ride, and a Von Roll Skyway ride. Not too many parks have Skyways anymore.

Darien Lake used to have a Huss Troika ride called "Thrillbilly" it was located where the Predator is now. I'm not when Darien Lake got rid of it, but my guess is 1990 to make room for Predator's construction.
