Coaster Con 2014 (the big one)

Just wondering if anyone from here is going? I'm doing some sums at the moment to see if it's feasible for me to attend. *shakes the piggy bank*

Re: Nicknames

I somehow managed to avoid getting a nickname at school, probably because my real name is quite rare, I was resistent to nicknames, and there aren't that many ways to shorten my name anyway. At my first job my boss nicknamed me "Herbs" as I was in charge of ordering them for the supermarket I worked...

Re: Woman dies in fall from New Texas Giant

My thought is SF and their position is indefensible considering there have been several accidents at their parks where T bar restraints failed like on Superman Ride of Steel. If that design is defective then why did Six Flags buy another ride with that? Because the S:ROS disaster was due to ride at...

Nicknames

Do you have a nickname in real life? If so, what is it and how did you get it?

Re: Negative G Park

How about for the judging the one running the event scores the design say 1-50 and then everyone else scores the design 1-10 and then we tally them all up. That way everyone is involved and people get to see what people thought of their designs. Or everyone grades them out of 10, and then you can g...

What did I do wrong?
I think there is a bug in the forum's system. Paul changed it for me. I'll put up an avatar later.

Re: New idea for a forum game

This being NL2, it might be fun to start the game with a park and each time there's a new scenario, we add the coaster to the park we've all been working on. Eventually, we'd have a park full of the winning coasters. That's a good idea. Would you like to start us off? I may not be able to join you ...

Re: Woman dies in fall from New Texas Giant

Either way, this ride op has just opened themselves up unbelievably to law suits as well - and the park has a custom -made scapegoat now. They will argue, the ride was safe, the ride op didn't do their job, and allowed the train to go against their better judgement (which is now been admitted to by...

In which case yes, I agree it was a mistake.

Re: Woman dies in fall from New Texas Giant

I'm glad I'm not the ride op's boss. He's going to be fired even if he trained them correctly. There was something in the article about this ride op being promoted and running other rides at the park. That's a straw man fallacy since that's not what my point was about, but in any case perhaps the m...
