Re: Negative G Park

Sure, why not? The only thing is we'll have to keep all the parks separate, otherwise four rollercoasters in and none of our computers will be having a good time handling the graphics.

Re: Visited Once & Really Want To Visit Again

There are lots. I'm going to pick two for different reasons: Holiday World for its awesome lineup of coasters and the family/ non-corporate feel of the park. Lake Winnie takes first place for charm. That park is amazing and it has a rare collection of flats. I believe the Fly-o-plane is the only one...

Re: Morgan's Letter to RCCA

(remember even the ACE people thought it was too severe on Saturday night before last) That's a really interesting observation. I've always understood that ACE members in general don't have an upper limit on ride severity, provided it doesn't outright hurt them, and people still rave about the Ratt...

A very Merry Christmas to you too, Paul. It was a beautiful day for Christmas Eve here in New Zealand, and tomorrow looks promising too. I'll post a photo if it's a good day.

Re: Epic Journey

I admit I did this from your Youtube video (there's no way my laptop could pump out a frame rate that nice with such a monster coaster) but I found your ride boring. Sorry. There's a lot of good ideas in the layout but about five minutes into the video it seemed like you'd run out of inspiration and...

Coaster Crazy, or: Woodpecker's trip to America, part 4

With Raven and Legend out of the way, there was one more wooden coaster to tackle. At this point, most of the other ACE guests had gone to have their supper. Instead, Kat and I hit the Voyage while the queue was empty. We made our way up to the platform and dumped our stuff, then took the penultimat...

Re: The Most Underrated Coaster Style

I'm not sure about ride types, but one of the most underrated coasters I've ever been on is this one: the Wild West Mine Train at Ocean Park in Hong Kong. It has no tunnels and no bridges and isn't much to look at. But it is far more fun than it has any right to be and is loaded with airtime. Yes, a...

Re: Knoebels Flying Turns POV

Sora, if you (or anyone else) has a lead on a POV of EB's turns, I would love to see it. I've longed for one last ride since my last last ride. No problem. It's on this DVD here: https://ssl37.chi.us.securedata.net/riverviewparkchicago.com/merchantmanager/product_info.php?products_id=16 Unfortunate...

Re: Thunderbird at Holiday World

All I can really say is, B&M had better deliver, because they've got one heck of a lineup to equal, never mind beat. Wild Eagle was fun, but hardly worth $22 million, and the entire ride had a feeling of "been there, done that" about it. Then again, if the crowds are being drawn to Thunderbird then ...

Re: Knoebels Flying Turns POV

With all the problems they had, I have the feeling that Knoebels are just glad that the ride works well. I remember reading somewhere that they have a Euclid Beach car to compare with, so it's not as if they didn't do their homework. They even tried five car trains but the problem was getting a cons...

Re: Guess The Coaster

The Cyclone at the New Zealand Exhibition? Indeed, it's the Wellington Centennial Cyclone, New Zealand's second wooden coaster (1939-1940) after the Dunedin Exhibition's Scenic Railway (1925-1926). Both were removed when their respective exhibitions ended, and no other wooden coasters have been bui...

Re: Indiana and Kentucky

Voyage would be significantly more comfortable if they replaced the hollow seat dividers with solid ones. Having my thighs rammed through them on every bend was NOT fun.
