Re: Firechaser Express Trains

I love the Fury. I miss working it, and still hold it close to my heart.

That would be a blessing. I love Toboggan rides...up until I have to have my skull dented. :)

Re: Top Five bucket list coasters

I'll do these backwards for effect. My #1 likely never happen...but I can't help but include it. Sorry...but can't... #5 Wild Mouse @ Blackpool Pleasure Beach - Only wooden wild mouse left that I know of. #4 Coney Island Cyclone - It's one of the most well-known wooden coasters around. #3 Comet at G...

Re: What Closed Parks Have You Been To?

Americana/LeSourdsville Lake Geauga Lake Kentucky Kingdom (not closed for long!) Old Indiana Fun and Water Park Cypress Gardens (I include this only because much of the park changed when LEGOLAND moved in. Many rides are now gone...and one is trimmed...grrrrr) Paul - You forgot part of a park. You'v...

Re: Kentucky Kingdom adds Lightning Run!!!!

I'm really excited for it. It should be a great addition to Kentucky Kingdom. Really, it's a blessing that they're opening at all, let alone getting a new coaster. Just FYI - ERT on this ride before it's even open to the public is scheduled during the 2014 ACE Spring Conference. It's May 16-18 and i...

Re: The Flying Turns is open!!!!!!!!

Count on Knoebels for preservation! :) I have to add a story. Probably many of you remember Tanya Regan. She told us a story once when we were eating with her at (I think) Cracker Barrel. She told us she was going to make a T-shirt when Flying Turns opened that said "Flying Turns, Opening in..." and...

525ft of kinetic energy has to go somewhere. It can't possibly run unchecked all the way down the tower.
Dive, turn, stop. Dive, turn, stop. Repeat all the way down a 525 foot tall tower.
You guys just had to poke me didn't you?

Re: Firechaser Express Trains

Construction is definitely on the way at Dollywood. I'm surprised it isn't further along than it is even, but I'm sure they'll get there. One of the very cool things I think is how they are using the towers from Adventure Mountain as a part of the ride experience. It's quite exciting. Also, just to ...

Re: The Flying Turns trains have been decorated!

It takes a special type of park to be willing to try and recreate this type of ride. There will probably be few others willing to take such a risk.

Hmmm...I feel like I'm slacking. 35 on Beast on a Sunday in October. That's actually a LOT of ride time though, considering what ride that is. :)

Re: Woman dies in fall from New Texas Giant

As for what was said about Outlaw Run being open and people knew about Texas, you just know that half the people will swear they were at SDC and someone fell out of OR. People are so stupid they'll start rumors like that without even bothering to check facts. Reminds me of a research paper I had sub...

Re: The Boss Redone Rocky Mountain Style...What would you do

I'm not even objectionable to the current trains. It's so rare to find a wooden coaster with no seat belts these days, that I'm fine with keeping it as is.

Re: The Flying Turns trains have been decorated!

That would be fantastic, but don't kid yourself. A coaster opening in present day with no restraints will happen at about the same time the government announces we don't have to pay any taxes. It might have happened in the olden days, but not in today's sue-happy society. No one could afford the ins...

Re: Backwards Batman

Viper I hadn't heard about. That might give us a reason to try and go. :)

Great America seems to really like running their rides backwards. That might give Powerwalking Bull some potential if they'd run it backwards.
