That's exactly what it does, hence my "oh, snap" at the end of my post.

Re: Verruckt Review and How-To: 281 Steps

I'll agree with Paul... building a "tallest, fastest" water slide and then trimming it is pretty lame.... it would be like spending a bunch of money to make a coaster that launches to the top speed of any coaster on earth in order to take that "world's fastest" moniker, then braking the hell out of ...

Re: Coaster Crazy, or: Woodpecker's trip to America, part 3

Mega Zeph is the only coaster I ever rode with G-trains that ever made it into my top ten. It was actually #1 until I rode Voyage a few years later. Looking back on it, if MZ had been running MilFlyers, I'm betting it would've been bought and saved by now, since it would've likely been on everyone's...

Re: A Shake-Up In The Coaster World

I'm wondering if these guys didn't want to dabble in steel coaster design as well, but felt hampered by the "wood-only" attitudes where they worked?

Re: Negative G is now an OFFICIAL Coasting For Kids Sponsor!

There are lots of parks west of Texas that I haven't been to. I usually did my big coaster trips via car, so I tended to choose routes that would have me being able to get to a park and ride something each day. Going east from Texas, that's not hard to do, especially in PA, OH, and that area. Going ...

Re: Coaster Crazy, or: Woodpecker's trip to America, part 3

Legend is a weird coaster for me. The first time I rode it, I couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about. I didn't like it much at all, didn't think it lived up to the hype, and found the whole ride pretty uncomfortable. It was running those godawful Gerstlauer trains back then. Laterals + G-tr...

Re: New Jersey's Action Park

It's reopened now(!) with some of the sketchier stuff removed. The Alpine Slide has been replaced with an Alpine Coaster (reason enough to go, right there!) and many of the other 'rides' have updated safety features.

It's unknown if "15-yr-olds walking around with a can of Budweiser" is back, though.

Re: Indiana and Kentucky

Sorry to hear the Voyage was rattling in the second half.... but I'm guessing that it's not any worse than it ever has been, since you said the first half was fine. In my experience, the only times Voyage has been "too rough" was when you started with the OWOWOWOWOWOW at the bottom of the first drop...

Lightning Run movie trailer

I just discovered iMovie's "make trailer" feature. So I tossed in a bit of video I took of Lightning Run and made it out like a summer blockbuster (which it is). Uploaded to YouTube and sent a link to Chance Rides. They were so happy with it they want to show it at their IAAPA booth this year(!) I a...

Greg, you might need to narrow your guess down a bit... Santa Cruz, or San Diego?

Ah, ok... that "yanks you out of your seat" bit is WHY I liked the back better. To each his own.
