Well, you've got a year's notice now, haven't you?

Re: Silver Dollar City Announces Big Expansion In 2015

Considering how many Facebook page comments were along the lines of "OMG, the Balloon Ride is coming back, YAY!" I think they made the right choice on that one.

Re: SFGAM's Goliath VS SDC's Outlaw Run

Haven't been on Goliath yet, but I'll echo your sentiments about OutRun.... with one caveat. SDC also cheated us on using up all the energy the lift/drop could've delivered. The only difference is that instead of sticking the end brakes in what should've been the midcourse brake spot, SDC simply bui...

Re: CptBeeble Got Married!

Had a great day. Got married by a little old Marriage Commissioner at our condo in Calgary. She was a hoot, something of a cross between Zelda Rubenstein (the tiny house exorcist from Poltergeist) and Bette Midler. We both cried while trying to recite the vows, no surprise there. Had the reception o...

Re: Six Flags Earnings

To paraphrase: Six Flags begins refusing to treat Robb Alvey like a VIP, guest satisfaction numbers soar to an all-time high. Coincidence? I think not.

You can get there through Google - https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!for ... er-coaster

There are some actual good conversations there if you look hard enough.

Re: Thunderbird at Holiday World

Better: Instead of launching into an Immelman, launch into a long uphill track that ends at a second station near the park entrance. Stop and allow folks to get off the train if they wish (and those seats refilled by a single-rider style queue). Then run the coaster back down into valley from there ...

Re: 2015 Anyone?

It's almost certainly the "Strike U Up" thing that Skyline just announced.

That means that it might not be a coaster. It looks, from all the pixellated stuff they've put up so far, that flat rides are their catalog this year.

Re: Thunderbird at Holiday World

Skyride FTW. And make it run at least a half hour past park closing to help those on the last T-bird and Voyage rides haul their asses back up to the top of the hill.

Re: 2015 Anyone?

Today's tweet said that due to the wind, the balloon was "dropping and diving" quite a bit. Sounds like a coaster to me.

Re: 2015 Anyone?

I thought of that... but Skyline has said they'd announce the project on August first... and SF is doing all of their announcements on August 28th. Surely they wouldn't ruin the announcement of their own customer's project?

Re: 2015 Anyone?

OK, the SFOT thing is almost certainly a dark ride of some kind. Whether or not it's interactive, I don't know yet. Can't really say more. SFFT, on the other hand, is getting really bizarre. Things we know for sure: 1. It will be an "industry first" attraction 2. It will be in Rockville, which is ge...

Re: Thunderbird at Holiday World

Waterboy, I'm not pissed at your post. I'm glad you're excited about the ride and I did appreciate the "Will Power" bit. ...and I also understand the "whole Holiday World experience" which is one of the reasons that I think this massive, high-tech, bright orange thing is going to take this park from...

Re: Thunderbird at Holiday World

As hugely disappointed I am in this ride, I will say that the longer queues will be for the left side, as it's the only one that has interaction with the barn in the last section, plus the scraping-the-ground turn just before it. Another B&M, another cut/paste job of elements that already exist on d...

Re: Chippewa Lake Park Wild Mouse..

Was the coaster originally a different type? If so, that might be the problem with the station. Try selecting the station and changing the type to something else, track, brake, whatever. Then alter the section a bit, make it shorter, longer, whatever... then change it back to a station segment. Perh...
