Re: Skyscraper Orlando Coaster

But that's why it's dead at that time...

Everyone goes for Halloween stuff, then everyone goes back for Christmas stuff.

In between, nobody goes. The kids are all in school.

Isn't The Underground in Iowa considered an indoor woodie?

Re: Skyscraper Orlando Coaster

Time it around IAAPA. All the posts I'm seeing from folks down there this week have been "look, everything's a walk-on!"

Re: New Amusement park planned for Union Station in STL

If it goes through, it could be a great thing, not just for park junkies, but for the city. Judging from Paul's description, it seems that the current Union Station may be in an area that could use some love. Houston's downtown was a ghost town on weekends for decades, as there were only office buil...

Re: Battle For Metropolis at SFStL and SFOT

SFOT's is going in the old Adventure Theater building (motion movie) with an extra building addition added to the back.

While the ride paths might be different due to being in different buildings, the storyline and animatronics/screens are likely to be the same due to cost.

Actually, 2017 is the year. Numerous articles got that part wrong.

Re: On-Ride Photos and Their Consequences

The on-ride souvenir photo staff on Outlaw Run scan each train for folks with their cameras out.
I've seen them hand a printout of a front-seat rider to a security person who confronted the rider with it as he was coming down the exit ramp.

Re: On-Ride Photos and Their Consequences

I found that (other than Six Flags) in Mexico, many of the parks were completely OK with riders pulling out of the station, phone in hand, taking selfies and whatnot. They were also fine with doing POV, although that didn't seem to be on anyone's mind... nor was taking pics of the ride. Taking pics ...

Re: No Limits 2 (NL2)

Yes. Not only can you build dual-track racers, but you can have multiple coasters of different types in the same park as well. The limit is basically whatever your computer can handle. Once you start getting three or more coasters in a park, the graphics + having to keep up with the physics of all t...

After riding Medusa Steel Coaster with those harder non-poly wheels, I'm even more pumped up for Wicked Cyclone. If it gets anywhere near the insanity level of its cousin down south, it could just become the new #1 steel coaster for a LOT of people.

All aboard the CreHo Express!

Just got back from the Mexico trip with Coaster Zombies. There was one coaster we tried to get on a quick stopover in far north Mexico City, but it was only open weekends and we were there on a Thursday. So when our day at La Feria Chapultepec turned to crap (huge crowds + poor operations, even by M...

Re: ACE Convention at SFStL in 2016

RMC Boss - length would be a problem. Depends on the wheels. If they use poly wheels (NTG, IRat) then they'll need to raise the lift hill and shorten the ride by quite a lot. Those things lose speed like a muther. On the other hand, if they use the harder wheels (Steel Medusa) then it's not an issue...

Re: Medusa Steel Coaster review

I should mention the queue. It's LONG. It starts in a little courtyard, then an attendant lets groups of people go through every so often. This is because the next part of the queue is a gravity house and they don't want people standing still in there because of the slanted floors and such. It's wel...

Medusa Steel Coaster review

First trip to SFMex. It's really beautiful, the GP is friendly, and the ride ops are top notch. Seriously. Even though it's SF. The park was PACKED but a VIP wristband gets you flash pass priveleges on all the major rides, albeit only one ride on Joker (spinner), Boomerang, Kilhuea (shot tower), and...

Re: What Are Your 5 Favorite Parks & Why?

If you're wondering what's so special about Europa Park, and why so many people were excited that it unseated CP at the GTAs.... have a listen to this (skip to around 32:30 or so) and ask yourself if Cedar Point (or ANY park in the US) even gets close to this. I've heard that the Harry Potter sectio...
