It is a former steam engine that was butchered into a diesal. The only Six Flags parks still running steam are Over Texas and St. Louis.

I stumbled upon a picture of the new turn. It looks like it should still produce some good laterals and the airtime on the double up should be stronger than before.

Boss goes under the knife and loses 420ft.

The infamous double helix on Boss is no more. The helix is being removed and replaced with an 180 degree banked turn. This change will take Boss from 5,051 ft. long to 4,631 ft.

The park is at no risk of flooding. It sits pretty far from the river and high enough on a hill that the flood poses no threat to the park.
