One the things that I like to do the most is to get a bunch of
friends and go and have a fun day at a park. For this trip Andy,
Brian and I met up in St. Louis at Greg's house before heading out to
World's of Fun.
Here's Brian at 4:30am. He looks a bit tired because we
were playing with my Wii until 1:30am and then we had to wake up a few hours
later in order to head west to Kansas City and get to Worlds of Fun for
opening. By the look on his face I don't think he's a morning
person. Not to worry though as the sight of Mamba on the horizon
brought a grin to all of our faces.
The last time I had been to a park was mid-June so I was really needing
some serious coaster time. It turned out that we picked the perfect day
to make a trip as we had gorgeous weather and thankfully no one was at the
park partly due to a Kansas City Chiefs home game.
The last, well and only time I had been to Worlds of Fun previously was
when Mamba was brand new back in 1998. Since then the park added a
Boomerang which I honestly was not that excited about and Patriot which
is a custom inverted coaster designed by Bollinger & Mabillard.
Being a custom B&M inverted with a fantastic layout and not just another Batman clone I was
psyched to take Patriot for a ride.
Here's Brian and Greg hanging out by Patriot's totally cool
logo.
