The Comet is a double out and back with it's first loop laid out in a figure eight pattern. After the first drop the Comet takes you around a turn before heading down to the ground.
The straight stretch of track in between the Comet's turnarounds is filled with some nice bunny hops. They're not airtime hills but are still fun,
Yes there is a coaster train going around a turn under that dense tree cover. In the station you can see that for this particular tree every few years Waldameer Park has to cut the station roof back as it grows.
The Comet was designed by Herbert Schmeck who was for quite a while the chief designer for the Philadelphia Toboggan Company.
