Uncle Bernie's Theme Park Fort Lauderdale, Florida September 16, 2003 Page One
Carrie and I had been needing a break for a while and when my friend Adam called up telling us that we were going to join him for a week in Fort Lauderdale on the beach in his time share we hopped right on it. During our stay in Fort Lauderdale Adam took us to the dirt mall, known to everyone else as the Swap Shop. When we pulled up I immediately noticed a Ferris wheel hidden behind the main building and headed over to go check it out.
Instead of finding just the wheel I walked into a small amusement park, Uncle Bernie's Theme Park that is. After chatting with the ride op (it was a slow day) I found out that they have been there for a little over a year and had been slowly adding to it. While we were there they were in the process of building the structures for canopies to get most of Uncle Bernie's guests out of the sun while walking on the midway.
Uncle Bernie's has mostly rides for kids like this balloon ride but there is a nice selection to keep someone busy for a few hours when not cruising the stores at the Swap Shop.
