Daredevil Daze at Six Flags St. Louis is not one of the biggest
coaster enthusiasts but for a bunch of us it has become more than
just a great time to ride coasters but more of a family
reunion. Well, more accurately a Negative-G family reunion
as a little more than half the attendees were folks from the Negative-G
Forums.
When we pulled into the empty parking lot we noticed a huge group
of people hanging around and talking. I turned to Carrie and said
"I bet that's our group" and I was right. We pulled up to
find Illinois Mike, Alabama Mike, Josh, Kevin, Allie, Beth and a few
others hanging out and getting ready for a day of fun.
The plan for the day was to have exclusive ride time on Superman
Tower of Power and the Screaming Eagle an hour before the park opened. So
while everyone got there and checked in there was more hanging out and
then when it was time we were let into the park and herded up the hill
to ride.
Todd is a wimp. He's scared of heights and being from Louisville
having heard all about that accident there on their drop tower he did
not want to ride Superman. What are friends for besides razzing
each other into doing things we normally wouldn't do so I got Todd on
Superman.
Yes Todd survived his brush with Superman Tower of Power. He
whined so much all the way up even his son Travis told him to take it
easy. He screamed like a little girl all the way down and never
came near the ride the rest of the day. At least Travis loved it.
