Six Flags Over Georgia Austell, Georgia Season Pass Holder Day November 4, 2006 Page Four
Eventually they got everything properly secured and set up and it was time to strap me in and go for a ride. Greg took his first ride in the back while I was up in the front with the audio guy and cinematographer and of course a camera. It wasn't exactly a "zen ride" but it was pretty damn close.
Goliath's first drop is only one hundred and seventy feet but it still packs a serious punch. In the back it's plain insane.
B&M had to make Goliath's lift hill a bit steeper than normal so that it would fit within the flight space that the Great Gasp used to. You see Six Flags Over Georgia is situated in the flight path to an airport so if they want to build anything tall they have a ton of hurdles to jump through. So in this case they took out the Gasp and put Goliath in its place.
For early November we really lucked out with some gorgeous weather.
