Six years is how long it had been since my last visit to Six Flags Great America so I figured it was time to head back up there now that the park is only four hours away instead of six now that we live back in Illinois.

When I was a kid whether we were going to Great America, back in the Marriott days or were heading to our cabin up in Eagle River, Wisconsin the first part of Great America that we could see was the Sky Trek Tower.  My eyes were always peering out of the car's windows scouring the horizon looking for it.  When I saw it I knew one of my favorite places was nearby.



My brother Kevin is a smoker and they had this nice subtle reminder outside of the park before you even get to the ticket booths making sure you know that Six Flags Great America is now smoke free.



So if you upgrade to a season pass outside of the park it's just an additional $34.  Remember that because there will be a pop quiz later.



Great America is not an original Six Flag park so since there were no six flags that flew over Illinois six Old Glories works just fine.
