Six Flags Great America Gurnee, Illinois 1990 Page Three
Here's loops 2 and 3 of the Shockwave. My main problem with this ride (other than the lack of landscaping under it-it's built over the parking lot) is that the mid course brake takes you from 50+ MPH down to almost 0 in a couple of seconds and is a bit rough.
After the mid course brake you immediately enter the boomerang inversion. This has been re-profiled over the years due to some roughness in it's initial layout.
The Iron Wolf was the new coaster for the 1990 season at Great America. It is a stand up looping coaster and was my first stand up.
