Silver Dollar City Branson, Missouri July 30, 2006 Page Fifteen
Here's Greg enjoying the Flooded Mine. It wasn't exactly what he had remembered as in the decades between today and his last visit targets and guns were added and a few of the scenes were changed but both of us still had a blast on it. The only thing that kept us from riding it a second time was a long line.
At the end of the Flooded Mine Greg said "Hey I've got 4,500" and here's my score. I think it's easy to say that I was the better marksman.
Things like this scene make Silver Dollar City really shine. Once you enter the gates you are literally stepping into a different world and that's what theme parks used to be. Thankfully there are places like Silver Dollar City who take us away from the real world to a place where we can forget our troubles and just have fun.
Even this old locomotive left sitting here to be overgrown adds to the feeling that we're not in a manufactured experience but something more organic and real that has grown over time.
