Zach's Zoomer, being a junior
sized coaster is not high on the thrill list but it's a fun little ride
that'll bring a smile to everyone's face.
It has a figure eight layout very
similar to some of the junior coasters designed by the great coaster
designer John Allen during the fifties and sixties. While John Allen's
hand was not on the drafting board for this ride his spirit definitely
guided the designers at Custom Coasters International.
If you happened to grow up in the
1970's it was hard to go to an amusement park or traveling fair and not
run into one of these circular rides by Hampton. Yeah, their rides
were basically all the same with cars, fire engines or motorcycles on them
going around and around. They all had the button that would make a
wonderful "eeeee eeee eeee" sound when pressed. That noise probably
drove the ride operators nuts but holds wonderful memories for me.
After Cedar Fair purchased
Michigan's Adventure in addition to doing a ton of park improvements they
had the Peanuts gang move on in.
