Winter sucks. It especially does if you're a coaster enthusiast who lives in the middle of the snow bound Midwest. This winter both Bond and I have been going coaster crazy so when Carrie asked me what I wanted for my birthday I responded "to ride coasters with Bond" so a few days later he and I headed north to Bloomington Minnesota home of Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America.

Nickelodeon Universe is actually the third incarnation of this park. First off it was Knott's Camp Snoopy, then The Park at MOA after the contract for Cedar Fair to management ran out and then in 2008 with the addition of a lot of theming and several new rides it became Nickelodeon Universe.

The Spongebob Squarepants Rock Bottom Plunge Rollercoaster at Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America, Bloomington, MN

One of the new rides that was brought in for Nickelodeon Universe was the Spongebob Squarepants Rock Bottom Plunge.

Before heading out on our trip Bond and I sat down and watched a bunch of videos of the park on Youtube and we decided that the coaster to start out our 2010 coaster season would be the Rock Bottom Plunge.
