It's nice having a big reason to get back to Kings Island and
Diamondback is it.
Kings Island is a nice park, don't get me wrong but it missed a huge
attraction that people want to ride again and again. That's how
Kings Island was before 2009. As soon as Diamondback appeared
above the rest of the park there finally was an epic ride to really make
me want to go there again and again.
I know there are those Beast fans out
there who are mow mortally offended at that previous statement but sorry.
I like The Beast but to me it's a big mine train and like the name of my
site I like negative-g's and it has none.
Last year Bond and I ended our Holiwood Nights (an enthusiast event at
Holiday World) weekend trip at Kings Island and after getting ride after
ride on Diamondback Bond didn't want to leave. In fact there
were a few tears as Diamondback faded into our rear window. So this year we
started our Holiwood Nights weekend trip by heading to Kings Island for
more rides on Diamondback with a few occasional stops at Kings Island's
various other rides.
If you like negative g's Diamondback is the ride for you. Bond and
I are fond of the back seat where you get whipped over the top of the
hill and up out of your seat.
It's great just flying down Diamondback's 215 foot first drop with your
rear end barely touching the seat. I absolutely love these trains
because they secure you in but they give you an out in the open and very
free feeling.
