Holiday World & Splashin' Safari Santa Claus, Indiana The Voyage Media Day May 4, 2006 Page One
On Thursday May 4th, 2006 almost a year and a half of waiting for me was finally over. It was a year and a half since I started to hear rumors floating around town that Holiday World "was going to build a coaster up a hill". The last night of waiting was a sleepless one and as I had to be at Holiday World at 6:30am dawn met me as I headed over to the park. After all of the members of DAFE and the RCCGB gathered as well as a trainload of radio station contest winners and media (myself included in the latter category) everyone was led through where the old Virginia Reel was down into the new Thanksgiving section.
Like many others I was excited to see the new additions like Thanksgiving and Gobbler Getaway but everyone's eyes were glued to the main attraction: The Voyage.
With all of my waiting this day was almost like a dream.
