Holiday World & Splashin' Safari Santa Claus, Indiana 2006 Construction Update January 7, 2006
There has been progress with The Voyage from one end to the other this week. Up here by the "snowy white road" that isn't snowy white after all of the traffic that has traversed it they are busy erecting structure back up in the woods. Just to the right of the crane is the highest elevation on The Voyage's course which is almost a hundred feet above the station. This canopy was added mid week and will be needed in the coming months as here in Southern Indiana we tend to have a pretty wet monsoon, I mean winter.
There has been a lot of progress with The Voyage over by the station. Last week they were about three-fourths done with the structure for the high turn that goes between The Voyage's last two tunnels along with the track that goes from the brake run to the station.
This week we not only have the hill complete but a large portion of the brake run structure as well. Also take a look in the lower center of the photo and you can see some track poking out of The Voyage's final tunnel.
The sheer size of The Voyage still blows me away. That's all for this week. Check back next week and I'll have more. Thank you for visiting.
