After spending the day at
Lake
Winnepeseukah up in Chattanooga we drove down south to our hotel
which was a stone's throw from Six Flags Over Georgia (update coming
soon) and then the plan was to head on down further south to
Fayetteville Georgia to visit Dixieland Amusement Park. Eventually
I was able to roust everyone from our comfortable air conditioned rooms
and we headed to Dixieland.
We had a few reasons to visit Dixieland but the big one was to score a
"dirty credit" on the Screaming Eagle coaster at the park.
Now if you're not familiar with the term "dirty credit" it's not
derogatory, it just refers to a kiddy coaster, a coaster at a travelling
carnival, or one at a family entertainment center like Dixieland
Amusement Park. We coined that phrase last year on the Negative-G
Road Trip when we had to use Bond in order for everyone to add a kiddy
coaster to their coaster count. Someone commented that they felt
"dirty" using a kid to get a credit and the phrase "dirty credit" was
coined.
There's nothing wrong with a dirty credit as credit whores as we are
they hold a special place in our hearts.
The Screaming Eagle was added to Dixieland back in 2007 and was built
and designed by E&F Miler Industuries.
If you think the Screaming Eagle looks like a giant "Erector Set" don't
worry, you're not the only one. I could see Bond building a ride
like this in our yard if he had a bunch of pieces and if Carrie would
let us buy a coaster (she won't...we already asked, she says she'd never
see Bond or I again if we had one).
