Dollywood Pigeon Forge, Tennessee A Smoky Mountain Christmas December 2, 2006 Page One
The plan was that my trip to Six Flags Over Georgia in early November was to be my last park visit of the season but when the producers of the HDTV show "Magnificent Obsessions" approached me about being the subject of a show they threw in a trip to Dollywood in order to get some footage of me on Thunderhead.
So the first weekend of December we headed to Dollywood for a morning shoot on Thunderhead and a day at the park. Dollywood didn't open until eleven and we were there well before that so for a while we had the Timber Canyon area of the park to ourselves.
While we waited for temperatures to get above forty degrees (the minimum temperature they'll run a coaster in) the crew got some nice footage of Thunderhead itself.
For early December we had a gorgeous day to film with plentiful sunlight and the fact that it wasn't freezing outside.
