Thunderhead is the latest creation from Great Coasters International or as most enthusiasts call them, GCI.
Thunderhead is a capacity machine as even when the line is long it doesn't stop. In my opinion Dollywood has some fantastic ride operators who really work to keep the trains and line going.
Thunderhead while uphill from Dollywood's entrance is still nestled down in a valley.
When you look at the twisted diving drops of Thunderhead it's easy to see the influence of the classic coaster designer Harry Traver who designed probably the most twisted and terrifying coasters during the golden years of the rollercoaster back in the 1920's.
