Coaster-Mania 1999

In June of 1999 I headed on over to Cedar Point for my first enthusiast event...Coaster-Mania.  This was taken while driving at 45 miles an hour over the Cedar Point Causeway out of my passenger side window at about 5:45 am.   You know I'm not a morning person but I'll get up at any time to hit some coasters.

Here's a nice shot of the Raptor taken from the midway below the first drop.  The morning of Coaster-Mania was spent going between the Raptor and Mantis for some fabulous Exclusive Ride Time.  Nothing wakes me up in the morning better than a slow trek up Mantis's lift hill in the cool morning air before plummeting to the ground at high speed.  You know life doesn't get any better than this.

I really love the drop after the brake run on Raptor.   It's a great twisting diving turn that reminds me of the great Schwarzkopf Looping Star coasters.
